Noah was my first Toller and
the beginning of a love story, that I could never have fore seen.
I lost him the 28 of August 2009, in a accident so unbelieveble and cruel, that
I will never get over it. Noah only became 4 years old,
but before that he managed to leave a strong impression on many of those people
who was fortunete to meet and get to know him.
For many the meeting with him
resulted in a Toller puppy short time after. He knew exactly how to Charm the
people...
I have many times heard people say that "if only their dog became just like Noah
when they grew old" and I had to tell them that it didn't come without a lot of
hard work.
Noah was not perfect, he also
had his strange sides and could be a chicken some times. Not always the dog that
found rest 100% through his growing up.
When he grow older he became calm and only thing he never stopped with was his
idea of yelling at strangers by howling like a wolf at them.
When we were out representing the breed at both Breed Messes and Dogshowing, he was a dream and said hello to every one both grown ups and children. At home on the other hand he was a totally differend dog and if he didn't want to be social he told people so by howling at them or he turned his bag at them and ignored them.
He was an extremely intelligent dog, who knew how to cheet on people, making them do what he wanted them to do, if they was not attentive of his ability.. I have stories from those who have been baby sitting him, where he had been activating them so much thet they were so tired when I came to pick him up again ;o). Other thought that he was a bit to demanding and from that I can imagine that he have been sitting besides them stearing at them because he wanted some action ;o)..
Noah was remarkable stubbern
dog, but he was also very social and friendly. He had a very social language and
was very easy to have when we were out among other dogs.
He was never interested in fighting, but would rather come to an agreement with
out any nonsense. Only 2 times I have experienced him becoming angry. Once was
when we were in our summer cottage, where the neighbours dog ran into our lawn
and attacted Noah. where he a moment before had been lying and relaxted.
Second time was when a small dog attacted his daughter Sessan who was only 4
month old at that time. But never at any time did he bite, he only did his
marking.
When Noah was 10 month old he was attacted and savaged on a Dogshow. I long
feared that it had done irreversible damage on him psysically, but he forgot all
about it after some month and I never experienced that he after that was
fearfull or unsafe.
Noah was an excellent working
dog, with a lot of Hunting. I unfortunetly never did fully know how to use his
abilities, because of my unexperience and I needed some one with enought
knowlede in this field to guide me further in this area.
On the game tracking he from start had an excellent nose that he early on became
to good and began to XXX on the game tracking tests (something i first found out
way to late..) He could go a Gametracking that was a week old in excellence but
tracks that have been lying in 12-24 hours, was no challenge for him and he lost
interest.
Hunt practise was interesting. He was very fast in learning the different things and in most of the area's he could the things needed in a Elite Field Trial. But we were way behind in the game handling, because I didn't have any where to keep it.. We were way behind in this area, to my big frustration. I knew that I had a good dog!!
Noah had an energy and drive, that many fell in love with and most inportantly he was always quiet/silence. No screaming or sound when we were out working. Eventhough that he could jump around restless after having med through the dummie or ball. He was really good in turning on/off and the Tolling for instans was always near perfect :o)
Noah was fearless when he
without hesitation through himself out in the water or through Marshlands to get to
the dummy or game.
I have only heard him do the Tollerscream twize in his lifetime. First time was
at the first training in the tollerclub, where we testet the dogs on shooting at
water, when all the other dogs started to scream, Noah was inspired to do the
same. Second time was when we went to the Int dogshow in Malmo at the Swedish
Winner 09. He saw his friend Zeus and became so happy that he began to scream
:o)
Noah was a very beautifull dog, with a Tollerhead so beautiful that some judges
the first 3 years of his developing was found to feminine or found him with to
less masculinity. But as he grew I became clear that he could develop in to
something extra. From he was 3 to 4 years old he gained 7 CAC's in 3 countries
and ther fore Champion in Denmark and Sweden + 3 CACIB's in 2 countries.
He was handled the last year by
the Top Juniorhandler Katrine Jeppesen and with her some of the largest winnings
came among that BIG3 (Best In Group 3). Noah was a show dog and he loved to
enter the showring especially with Katrine he was happy, because they looked
amazing together, a thing he was very much aware of :o)
I always called Katrine "Noahs Girlfriend", because he loved her and she was the
only one besides me and my mother that he listened to.
When we were at home, Noah was the sweetest thing. He was always sleeping in the bed or lying next to me in sofa. He had tha most talking eyes and if he wanted something he could sit and look at me until I understood what he wanted. Some times he gave up and instead he walked in to my mother who alwayus knew what he wanted.
A dog like Noah, you could do anything with. He could have become an excellent service dog because he was so easy to learn things andeager to learn things that gave him some challenge. He had no difficulties taking a safesty neal from the floor and deliver to hand. He had a very big vocabulary that I had never fore seen. He understood the difference of left and right and if I putted a red and green dummyout and asked him to take the green, he would do so.
Noah was tested on Agility for fun and he showed so big a talent and speed that only the Border Collies could also. The instructers was crazy about him :o). Yes this dog showed talent for so many things.
But most of all.... He was my boy, my Noah, my heart.
The 28 of August 2009 it was
all over for Noah. 4 years old he accidently crashed with his daughter Sessan in
the hunt for a ball. They both has so much speed in the hunt for the ball and
the graas was so high that they couldn't se each another. They Crash so
unfortunete that Noah get an instant
aneurisme.
Nothing could have saved him and if I had found him in time and he might have
lived today, it would have been a unworthy life for him with those following
problems a
aneurisme have.
Only comfort for me is that he
was doing the thing he loved the most on this earth and it was to work.
There will always be a big empty space in my heart after Noah. I wanted so
much,.. We were to gain so much. We were a team. When he died I feel like I got
one of my legs amputated.
Noah got 2 litters of 15 children after him, and I am having the joy to have keept a daughter after him. I hear a lot of his children about how they constantly surprices their owners with an inteligence over normal. Yes, Noah have endeed given a lot further to his children :o)
I will never forget you!
